Currently, the plug-in's synchronization logic for nested tags only shows the last subtag (tag A/tag B/tag C only shows tag C). This not only causes articles to not be displayed when searching for higher level tags, but also destroys the existing tag system of the ob library. Hope the developers can fix it soon, thanks 🙏

The current OB Sync plug-in can only sync once. If there are status updates such as annotations or tags in Cubox, they won't cover the synced OB notes:
“Each Cubox content will only be synced once to Obsidian's target folder location. Unless: The original content was deleted in Obsidian and the card information was updated in Cubox, such as editing the title, description, etc. of the content” — https://help.cubox.pro/share/obplugin/
But it's also too hard to use...

Obsidian sync plug-in can't sync B-station and Douyin video collections

The phone browsed the video on Douyin and sent it to cubox via WeChat. I was able to see it in cubox, but I couldn't watch it in my notes synced to the obsidian plug-in.

It supports synchronizing attributes such as article text and annotations as needed; supports filtering the range of data to be synchronized. For a detailed tutorial, please refer to the settings interface or help documentation.
Please ask us any questions in this queue or email hi@cubox.pro! The plug-in will also be officially launched on the Obsidian Community Plugins Market in the near future.

The Todd download link is for the source code, so let the capable release download it or build it yourself. The first link is a bit misleading.

KernelCrash can directly install the beta plugin with BRAT, and it can also be automatically updated later.

Todd Removing the original content in Obsidian doesn't seem to reset Cubox's sync as described in the help documentation; you must change data.json in the plug-in folder. Also, I would like to be able to stop the ongoing sync by clicking the cubox button again. These two issues make template debugging very inconvenient.

Todd The fact that the title sync can automatically replace illegal Ob characters should be praised 👍 It's like if you run into a note with an emoji title and just skip it?

Merged in a post:
I would like to add an obsidian sync function or an API file sync function.

Recently, DeepSeek has been particularly popular. I just got into Cubox. I discovered that the Cubox settings interface has an API, and I thought it could be synchronized in both directions. I used Deepseek to build an image based on Docker. As a result, the sync always failed. As a result, it was discovered that it could only be uploaded from other clients via the API, and it was not possible to download from Cubox. I hope to enable the download function, so I can develop the OBSDIAN sync function on my own.

Please share more. For the text's highlight and highlight note data, do you usually want to sync it separately to an Obsidian location, highlight it directly in the main text, or attach it to the text, such as the end position? What kind of format and usage would you like?

Todd I tend to put it on its own at the end to avoid being able to highlight or bold it from the original text. However, in the original text, you can use ^ to reference highlighted entries with an ordinal number

Todd My opinion is:
If there is only one format option, then choose to sync “Highlight Original Text ➕ Notes” to Obsidian; there is no need to sync the full text.
The 3rd image in the attachment is the test results I manually exported to Obsidian after manually editing actions in Cubox. There are two notes: highlight content ➕ Cubox article link ➕ note, highlight image ➕ Cubox article link ➕ note.
- Why is my first choice for the supported format to include only “Highlight ➕ Notes” without the full text? (The following is an analysis of actual reading scenarios)
- The storage and synchronization pressure of the Obsidian library determines:
Many web pages often have tens of thousands of words, a dozen, or even dozens of images, but users may only need to highlight one sentence or one image; the rest are worthless, so there is no need to stock up locally.
Cubox itself has original text analysis and snapshot caching. Cubox backlinks can trace the full text from Obsidian with one click, so there's no need to redundant so many unnecessary parts to the Obsidian library.
- Cubox and Obsidian are process partners. The underlying logic is: Cubox is used to store the original data and make initial reading notes → & → Obsidian is mainly a card note taking tool and is the final processing place for knowledge information modules.
In this process scenario, if the highlighted notes are synced to the Obsidian library along with the full text, then it instead becomes a data burden, bringing a large amount of “garbage data” to the further operation of the knowledge card. For example, reorganizing into mind maps or articles, memorizing with Anki through an OB memory plug-in or synchronizing knowledge cards, etc., could have directly operated on synchronized note cards, or even automated, but a large amount of unnecessary content in the “full text” became “data pollution”, leaving the “process” ruined ❗️
- Web Viewer, the new Obsidian1.8.4 core plug-in for PC, already allows any web link to be opened directly in the Obsidian tab, so the need to sync the highlights and notes in Cubox to Obsidian along with the full text is really small ❗️
Currently, in Obsidian on the mobile side, the original text in Cubox can be traced back to the original text in Cubox. Whether you go back to the app or the Cubox web page of the browser, you can also complete it with one click ✅ (In the attachment, the first and second images are screenshots of the Cubox article on the mobile page after clicking the Cubox link back link from Obsidian on the mobile side and then returning to the browser page version.)
- Why can some people sync the full text to Obsidian when they support simultaneous highlighting?
There are three general requirements for the sync format: requirement 1: sync highlight only the original text and notes; requirement 2: sync full text and highlight the underlined content (note inserted and next to the highlight); requirement 3. Sync the full text and highlight the underlined content (note placed uniformly at the end of the full text).
❗️ Among them, although the “note at the end of the full text” method of “requirement 3” preserves the compact structure of the original text, it is very inefficient for people who work efficiently and learn to take notes and review notes. In particular, for materials with long articles and lots of images, each highlighted line requires turning a few pages of the screen to find the final note. This divides the highlights from the notes, and violates the focus and coherence of thought when studying and doing research.
★ Friends who put forward “Demand 3” suggestions may: 1. They are used to commenting on paper articles and traditional web pages; 2. They want to maintain a clean layout of collected article materials. The essence of these two claims is simply to treat Obsidian as a data backup library. So why not just use Evernote, why use Cubox ➕ Obsidian? 3. Lightweight Cubox users who highlight notes: I just want to use the free version of Cubox with “200 pages capacity ➕ 3 annotations per page” as Obsidian's “ferryman” for clipping online data.
However, if you want to store some articles with a strict structure and difficult to separate the content, in Obsidian as a whole, as an AI corpus and reference material, of course it is a very valuable collection act 👍🏻
- Functional suggestions:
- Format options:
In summary, in order to meet the user needs of most different learning workflows, users can be provided with 3 simultaneous format options: option 1, sync highlight only the original text and notes; option 2, sync the full text and highlight the underlined content (the note is inserted and followed by the highlight); and option 3. Sync the full text and highlight the underlined content (notes are uniformly placed at the end of the full text).
Each option is provided with a default format so that most users can fool around. At the same time, it can also provide advanced users with the ability to edit custom formats on their own, just like “multicolored web page highlighting” to meet their more complex and diverse process tool combinations. Refer to: ⭐️ “Multicolored” Obsidian Simultaneous Export Template User Manual: https://doc.wucai.site/sync/template-ob .html
- Synchronization strategy suggestions: ❗️❗️
Sync switch: You can set certain articles to be out of sync — this is especially important.
Reason: Notes synced to Obsidian are very likely to be edited directly in Obsidian. If the changes are not saved in time, then the data will be overwritten by the Cubox sync plug-in. (If you can easily set an article highlight note not to sync to Obsidian a second time, then many data miscoverage incidents will be avoided.) Refer to: ⭐️ “Multicolored” Obsidian Sync Strategy Setting Guide: https://doc.wucai.site/sync/obsidian .html
“Wucai” is really good at customizing and synchronizing strategies. However, Cubox's original text snapshot cache and seamless integration experience with app clients on all platforms are indeed superior 👍🏻👍🏻
In conclusion, if Cubox can absorb the above two strengths of “multicolored” when highlighting and synchronizing notes to Obsidian, then it will be another evolution. Come on Cubox 👍🏻👍🏻
